Lazio 3 - Cagliari 0, Lazio Rises to Third

Senad Lulic and Miroslav Klose put the visitors two ahead before the break, with substitute Tommaso Rocchi adding a third with two minutes remaining. The hosts nearly opened the scoring after just two minutes but Lorenzo Ariaudo poked over the bar from close range.

And that was the only chance of note until Lazio broke the deadlock six minutes before half-time, with Djibril Cisse laying the ball to Lulic, who fired an unstoppable shot past Michael Agazzi and into the top corner.
Cagliari looked to respond immediately but Radja Nainggolan saw his fierce effort fly just wide of the upright after 42 minutes.
Lazio doubled their advantage two minutes later when Klose was allowed to ghost behind the home defence to meet Cisse’s cross with a thundering header.
Cagliari nearly pulled a goal back after the break when a low cross hit Abdoulay Konko but the Lazio defender narrowly avoided putting the ball in his own net.
The home side continued to push for a route back into the game, with substitute Victor Ibarbo seeing his header saved by Federico Marchetti.
Alessandro Agostini then delivered a peach of a cross from the left but Thiago Ribeiro contrived to head wide when it was easier to hit the target.
Rocchi went on to seal the deal for Lazio on 88 minutes after seeing his initial header pushed onto the bar but reacting first to fire home the rebound.
